How does Roy know how to design an alarm like the one he made in the previous chapters, if he is only a Pharmacist on Mars?

Interesting Scene
Something I found very interesting in the chapters we recently read in Do Anroids Dream of Electric Sheep? is when Isidore attempts to help out the last three andys. He knocks on Pris's door first of all, and she claims to be Rachel Rosen. Then she tells him her real name. He offers her some food and wine and then two other andys knock at her apartment door. It is Roy and Irmgard Baty, and they are looking for somewhere to stay. Isidore offers them protection and says they can all move in with him. Roy actually wants to kill Isidore. I think he feels that Isidore is going to turn them into a bounty hunter. I find this scene interesting because Roy starts to build a device to warn the last three andys when a bounty hunter has come into the midst. It will trigger the bounty hunter to basically freak out and run away. It is cool that Roy designed the device around Isidore. He made the setting alarm when another human has arrived so that Isidore does not feel panicked when he is in the apartment.

I believe Roy is extremely smart. He is the leader of the Andy's and has designed a way for him and his wife to come from Mars. Although he is only a pharmacist from Mars he obviously has some kind of gene that makes him excel in certain categories. I assume he spent awhile coming up with an alarm to protect himself from the human bounty hunters. Roy seems to be very intelligent and will try multiple things to save himself. In the end, this is a very good question that I don't know the answer too. Hopefully we'll find out sooner or later.
ReplyDeleteAndroids are programmed with a very high level of intelligence, so this could be the reason he is able to program this. He worked as a pharmicist on mars due to the fact that androids are essentially only on mars to help out the humans, so he could not get a job that requires a specific skill or requires a good amount of intelligence. He is the person who led the androids from mars to earth and this shows that he is a very intelligent android who is capable of protecting the others, he probably has the knowledge needed to build this alarm programmed into him.
